Mrs Artemis Karantzalis Kyriacou
Magog, 1 septembre 2022
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Artemis Karantzalis Kyriacou, born January 10th, 1931, wife of Andreas Kyriacou. She took her last breath at the age of 91, on September 1st, 2022, as she passed in my arms, peacefully and painlessly.
Artemoula, as many called her, was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She arrived in Canada at the age of 25, and this photo of her was taken at the Royal Victoria Hospital in her first nursing job. It is a TRUE depiction of her character. She was a happy, loving person, and a true nurse to the core. Always taking care of others and putting others before herself. Artemoula will be greatly missed by those who truly knew her and loved her.
My mother’s wishes were for her remains to be brought back to her homeland. In honour of her wishes, there will be a private ceremony in Gythio Laconia, Greece. She will be honoured by her surviving family: daughter Joanne Kyriacou, son-in-law Peter Psomas, and grandchildren Andrew and William Psomas.
May our Bebaa (as she was lovingly called by her grandkids) rest in heavenly peace.
Anyone wishing to honour her memory may do so by making a donation to the SOS Children’s Villages.
