Mr Matheos ” Matty ” Armaghanian ( 1942 – 2025 )
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our rock, Matheos “Matty” Armaghanian in the early morning of February 11th, 2025. Matty was larger than life with his infectious personality and charm. Born in Egypt in 1942 to his mother Isabelle “Lily” Ishkanian and father Baghdig Armaghanian. He immigrated to Canada with his mother and sister 61 years ago. Matty went on to live his dream by being a pioneer in the Montreal food scene with Chez Kiki a Mykonos and Matty’s Restaurant on Rue de la Montagne in the 70’s and 80’s.
Matty will be forever missed by many but mostly by his wife, Celia Sani, his daughters, Anya Armaghanian (Michael Kazandjian), Lisa Major and sister, Vivian “Vivi” Armaghanian. He also leaves behind his Stepchildren Claudia and Anthony Masecchia, niece Tina Merkouris, his beloved grandchildren Olivia Rose, Lily Rose, Dallas and Giuliana, Selena, Matteo, Mila, August along with many cherished cousins and friends.
Matty joined his mother, father and beloved niece Selena.
A celebration of life will be held on March 23rd, 2025 at the Ste-Croix Church, 1025 , Elizabeth blvd, Laval, Qc H7W 3J7. Mass is from 10:30am to 12:30pm. The 40 th will be mentioned around 11h30.
Friends and family will be welcomed at 12:30pm in the reception hall for coffee and light bites.
