ÉLIZABETH (BETTY) BLAKE ALEKSA

RICHMOND, 6 December 2011

‘On December 6, 2011 Elizabeth Anne (Blake) Aleksa, formerly of Lennoxville, QC., passed away peacefully at the Foyer Wales. She was 84.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her children Suzanne (Richard), Linda (Mark), Alfred (Gaby) and Dorothy. She also leaves behind brother Peter (June) and sister-in-law Margaret (William) 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Hubert Aleksa, her parents Bob and Gertrude Blake and her brother Bill Blake.

Betty was well-known in the community during her years of nursing work on 2nd Surgical at the Sherbrooke Hospital and her participation in the United Church UCWs as well as in the Cantatas performed in Richmond, QC.
She enjoyed singing, cooking, gardening and knitting throughout her lifetime.

A memorial service will be held at Foyer Wales in the spring when the weather permits travelling and the flowers are in bloom.
A special thank you from the family goes out to Dr Martin, nurses Cathy Frank, Carol Arbery and all the nursing and domestic staff who helped care for Betty over the 7 years of her residence at the Wales Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.’
