Helen Jessie MacLeod Taylor

Sherbrooke, August 2, 2024

Helen Jessie Taylor (nee MacLeod)   1936-2024

After a brief stay at the Hotel Dieu in Sherbrooke, Helen passed on to her eternal home Friday, August 2, forty years after her husband, Neil Taylor.  Mother of David (Laurie), Debbie (Helen), Donna (Kendall), Dean (Patty), and Dennis (Claire).  Grandmother to Chris, Stacey, Sarah, Scott, Kelly, Erica, Samantha, Ryan, Jonathan, William, Neil and Austin and thirteen great grandchildren.

Helen had a beautiful smile and courageously tackled the many curve balls life thrown her way.  After losing Neil, she managed the family farm in Birchton (established 1798), ensuring it continued in the family.  In her later years she enjoyed phone calls and visits, playing cards with family and with friends at the Bulwer Community Centre, including many epic 500 and Wizard battles, as well as watching game shows.  Before her arthritis limited her mobility, she loved to travel.  Her favourite trips included driving throughout North America, various cruises and memorable European trips.  While raising her 5 children and helping Neil with the farm, she also found time to be a saleslady with various home party companies.

There will be no visitation.  Graveside service at the Eaton Cemetery will take place on Saturday, August 10 at 2:30.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Eaton Cemetery or Maison Aube-Lumiere are appreciated.
