Mr. BARRY DOWD

SHERBROOKE, 15 October 2021

Passed away suddenly on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the CHUS-Fleurimont, surrounded by his family, Barry Chester Dowd at the age of 64.  He was the son of the late Clifford Dowd and the late Elsie Williams, living in Cookshire-Eaton.

Barry leaves to mourn his daughter Kimberly Dowd (James Bowker); his grandchildren: Britney, Dillion, Obry, Colton; his brother and sisters: Wendy Dowd, Linda Dowd (Jacques Delisle), Pamela Dowd (William Kerr), Lori Dowd (Gaetan Goudreau), Sharon Dowd (Scott Graham), Charlene Dowd (Charles Gale).  He was also the brother of the late Timothy Dowd and the late Sherry Dowd (Raymond Lister).

Also left to mourn are his closest friends: Karl Blais & Isabelle Doyon, Mike Martin, Maurice Pageau, as well as many, many, nieces, nephews, other close friends and family.

Barry was a kind soul; he lived life his way and on his terms. He didn’t complain. Right up to his last day he was still out and about. He took cancer on like a champ. He could fix anything with nothing. His passion for old cars and vehicles of any nature was astonishing.  He had a special talent with motors. He had the kindest biggest heart and would do anything for the people he loved. His passing has left a huge void where he once was. The family would like to thank the CLSC Cookshire, a special thank you to Dr. Helen Payeur (CLSC), The CHUS-Fleurimont Emergency Room doctors & nurses and also the Palliative care team who were so kind, caring and understanding.  The family would also like to extend our gratitude to our sister Linda Dowd & brother-in-law Jacques Delisle for giving Barry a loving caring home and everything he wanted for the last three months.
