PAULINE VAN LIER
NORTH HATLEY, 16 November 2016
Pauline (Oort) van Lier, aged 72, died peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, November 16th, 2016 at the longterm care residence of the CSSS Memphrémagog, after a long struggle with vascular dementia. Pauline was born in Wageningen, the Netherlands (1944) and immigrated to Canada in 1970 to start a life in North Hatley shortly thereafter. Pauline was a devoted wife to husband Johan van Lier, a dedicated mother to her three children Annika (Luke), Erik (Geneviève) and Olivier (Lindsay); and a loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Anna, Alexandre, Ezra, Noah, Anya, Petra, Phoebe and Mabel. Pauline is survived by her older brother Arend Oort (Magda).
Pauline was an active member in her community, often volunteering with organizations such the NHRS, public library and UU church of North Hatley. She was an artist with a passion for stencilling and truly enjoyed gardening. She will be missed dearly.
Please join us for a gathering in memory of a beautiful person. A tribute to celebrate her life will be held at the Unitarian Universalist church of North
Hatley, Sunday November 20 at 2 p.m.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the love and care Pauline received at the CSSS Memphrémagog.
Donations to the Fondation de l’Hopital Memphrémagog – Hébergement, 50, rue St-Patrice Est, Magog, J1X 3X3, would be appreciated. ~Lieve Pauline, lieve moeder en grootmoeder, rust in vrede.~
